Terrific pruner!

Reviews: Fiskars Telescoping Pruning Stik

I've had this Fiskars Pruning Stik for 3 years and I absolutely love it. It has great extension and is a terrific tool for maintenance pruning (1" dia. or less). For the larger limbs, I attach the Fiskars saw blade which works like a traditional pole saw.

Here's what is different/outstanding about the pruner:

* The head rotates and lets you angle your cut perfectly, and cut close to the bark so that the cut heals quickly
* The leverage on the cutting head lets you cut 1" thick branches with relative ease
* The nylon cord is internal to the pole, so you use the slide handle to cut and there are no lines to get tangled
* The end of the nylon cord goes all the way to the endcap, so you can pull on the endcap to cut when the pole is fully extended
* As a rule, bypass pruners are better than saws or anvil pruners as they're less damaging to the tree

For higher/larger limbs, I'm about to invest in a Silky Hayauchi pole saw. For short reach, I use a Silky Ginza hand saw or an ARS 2'-4' extendable saw.
